My work is about exploring the iconography of the human condition and our feelings towards the domestic landscape and the powerful relationships between the decorative and domestic reality where the duality of the two becomes a narrative of conflict, weakness, paternal power and the symbolic aspects of women's lives. I ask the viewer to look at the predicament of the feminine. The elements of my work do not always please the viewer because I have a concern for the feminine but through hidden layers, contrasts between light and dark, good and bad, broken and mended, happy and sad which are subjectively portrayed in hidden abstraction through colour, decorative pattern and symbols. From a global perspective I explore the identity of females but through a humanitarian perspective.
